Ernest Hilbert is the editor of the Contemporary Poetry Review . His poetry has appeared in the Yale Review , Parnassus , and the New Republic . He was educated at the University of Oxford, where he edited the Oxford Quarterly . “ All of You on the Good Earth ” will appear in his collection While You Were Out , forthcoming from Red Hen Press in 2011.
The title of the sonnet is the concluding phrase of a message of goodwill broadcast from Apollo 8 by commander Frank Borman (1968).
